Anxiety
Anxiety is extremely common; however, many people suffer in silence. The good news is it very treatable. We can help you learn ways to manage anxiety so it no longer controls your life. We provide treatment for a range of anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety, panic disorder, separation anxiety, phobias, and social anxiety. We also provide treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) in which a person experiences intrusive thoughts and rituals/compulsions.
Trauma & PTSD
Trauma can include a variety of different stressful situations such as witnessing or experiencing abuse (emotional, physical, sexual, neglect), living through a dangerous or life-threatening experience, or even going through a difficult health issue or separation/divorce. Trauma can but doesn’t necessarily lead to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) which is when the trauma leads to other symptoms such as flashbacks, nightmares, or severe anxiety. If trauma is not addressed or worked through, sometimes it can continue to negatively impact your life. We are able to help you work through your trauma and regain control of your life in a way that respects your comfort level.
Relationships
We provide emotionally focused therapy (EFT), which is a well-supported approach based on the notion that difficulties in relationships often stem from unmet emotional needs. Rather than getting overly focused on the details of specific arguments, EFT aims to uncover these needs so that clients can better recognize and meet them for both themselves and others. Relationship counselling can apply to families, co-workers, friends etc and does need to only involve those in a romantic/intimate relationship.
